Schoenbrunn Palace
The Imperial Palace of Schoenbrunn, together with its numerous outbuildings, its extensive park, and historic zoo became a Unesco World Heritage site in 1996. The whole ensemble served as the former summer residence of the Imperial family. The history of the palace remains alive to this day, and the forty state rooms which one can visit document the daily life of the Habsburgs, their numerous festivities at court and the culture of bygone times.
The “Grand Tour” through the palace includes all the state rooms, the representative and private quarters of Franz Joseph, plus the most precious interiors from the era of Maria Theresia.
The “Grand Tour” can be divided into the “Imperial Tour” (with the focus on Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elisabeth) and the “Highlight Tour” (focusing on the Baroque and Maria Theresa).
